Halloween Dream

We kicked off the season with our 6th Annual Punkin' Carvin'. Our once simple gathering happily escalated into teenage boys vying for the "highly-coveted" title of Punkin' Carvin' Champ. Of course, when they realized the grand prize was helping me in the garden this spring, the title lost it's pzazz.
This Halloween was overflowing with fun and cuteness, primarily due to Miles who sports a permanent smile, dressed as a punkin or not. But the fun kicked into high gear when I busted out some scary-good moves at Zumba in Baton Rouge with Aunt Melinda (who first taught me the snake + the funky chicken when I was 4). I hit the dance floor as Margot Tenenbaum only to discover that working out vigorously in a wig takes down the fun and amps up the intensity.
Our second Montara Halloween was bigger and better than last year, which we didn't think could be done. David and I embraced a beloved 90s scandal: I was Nancy Kerrigan after her "incident" and David was my trusted mad doctor. Amazingly most people guessed my costume! Over the course of the evening we were treated to a parade of weird and wonderful costumes as trick-or-treaters depleted us of our six Costco bag candy stash. We even had a real scare when friends Daniel & Amelia pointed out a guy dressed as Michael Myers standing silently at the end of our driveway, watching us. Just when he was about to get an ice skate upside his head, he realized he was too deep into character and moseyed on before things got real. Luckily, our neighbor Andrew was there to provide some delicious home brewed whiskey to help take the edge off. Even still, a massive success!
Check out this year's quick vid, and be sure to join us next year for our greatest Halloween yet.

Thank you for sharing your Halloween. Looks like everyone is having fun. Best wishes to all
