A (mostly) guys trip

Cabo 2023 was our inaugural guys trip, followed by our e30 roadtrip last summer. The boys and I had such a great time in Cabo that we decided to open it up to Ren. This was a big vacation for us because Liam is turning 18 in a few months and will be deciding his own travel schedule (hanging out with us on Spring Break likely won’t be a priority for him) and Isaac is wrapping up 8th grade and will be a high schooler soon.

How appropriate then that Cabo pulled out all the stops for us. Every single thing we loved about it last time remained true but was somehow amplified beyond our expectations. It began even before arrival with being able to access the airport Centurion lounges thanks to my new job and then finding that we had a corner top floor apartment with not one but two balconies overlooking the beach.
It only got better from there, like when Isaac and I went paragliding - already very cool - and were surprised to have humpback whales jumping underneath us as we floated above.
Or when we went snorkeling at Cabo Pulmo, a world heritage site and bio reserve, not only did the snorkeling itself raise the bar on anything we had done before, but we even had a super rare Blue Whale siting right alongside our boat.
Add to this being nose to nose with sea lions and humpbacks so close you feel them breathing and it was truly magical.
And enjoying incredible starry skies from beach seating the boys carved out by hand along the shoreline with massive waves breaking just on shore.

I’m not sure if Cabo will become a regular spot for us, but I can say that it was absolutely the right spot for us to come back to for what may be our last family Spring Break. I’m so glad we could share such a special experience with Ren, I can tell it captured her heart too.

Looks like such a great time!
