Liam is 13!

I blinked and Liam turned into a teenager! He’s still the same sweet Liam, but he is also officially 13 now.

Liam was born on Obama’s inauguration day, January 20, 2009. Here we are now, 13 years later, and a lot has changed not only in the world, but also with Liam, not the least of which, he is taller than his mom and wears the same size shoe as me now!

Liam had certain personality traits that began to shine through early on – he was thoughtful, caring, incredibly funny, really great at building things, and just a wonderful little guy. All of those same things are still true about him. When Liam first started to talk, I began to log a list of his unique words and phrases that he would call things. One time, when he was having growing pains, he told me that the carrot in his arm hurt. I asked him, do you mean the bone? He responded, “why would I have a bone in my arm?” Another classic Liam line was when he got angry and declared, “I’m going to kick you with my dirty, dirty foot.”

I love our time together!

I’m so proud of who Liam has become and am excited to see what this next chapter brings for him. But in the meantime, as I wonder how it all went by so fast, I have to borrow one of Liam’s favorite lines from when he was little: “What happened here?”
